Life Fitness Journal #3

Life Fitness Journal #3 During the semester, in what ways did your physical health and fitness change for the better? What areas didn’t change in the way you had hoped or planned? During this semester my physical health changed in terms of consistency. Last semester we were not allowed to practice with our team and we only allowed to practice on our own. Since my sport is acro and tumbling, I was not able to just practice wherever and whenever. I had a difficult time trying to get into a facility that allowed me to tumble. Midway through this semester we were able to come back on to campus and begin practicing. So I was then able to practice five times a week. The area that did not change though was anything outside of practice as well as aerobic fitness. I wanted to try and continue running, but was not able to keep up the consistency of that.  During the semester, in what ways did your spiritual health and fitness change for the better? What areas didn’...

Life Fitness Journal #2

Life Fitness Journal #2   1. What successes have you had with your physical health and fitness goals so far? What challenges or barriers have you faced?            I have had some changes in my living situation which has caused some challenges in my fitness goal. I am currently not at my house anymore. I have been able to move into an on-campus apartment so that I can attend practice. For the first couple weeks after creating the fitness goal of increasing aerobic fitness in terms of mile time, I was able to do cardio exercises at home on the treadmill 2-4 times a week. I was able to drop my one and a half mile time by a lot. To attain my goal of getting into the "good" aerobic fitness category, I would have needed to run a mile and a half in 12 minutes and 25 seconds. The first time I ran it for the lab, I got 13 minutes and 58 seconds. The last time I recorded a time for this test I brought it down a ful...

Life Fitness Journal #1

Life Fitness Journal #1 1. What are your current strengths and challenges related to your physical health and fitness? What changes are you motivated and ready to make in this area of your life Why do you want to make these changes?      When it comes to physical health and fitness, I feel like I was dealt a better hand than most. I grew up in a pretty active family. My brother started hockey when he was five years old and continued until he aged out of the junior's league when he was nineteen. My sister started figure skating when she was six and quit when she was sixteen. I personally did both of those sports when I was extremely young, but found out quickly that they were not for me. I then became a gymnast with my friend when we were about six years old, and I have been active since then. Growing up as a competitive gymnast meant that I was practicing anywhere from 18-22 hours a week. Being active for me, came naturally and I did not have to work...
